snappahead
Having issues using ego sync. I'm not 100% sure when this first appeared - chances are I've messed something up unwittingly... Whenever I run ego sync I encounter an error: # ego-sync Syncing meta-repo fatal: Couldn't find remote ref refs/heads/1.1-prime There was an error syncing meta-repo. I think this means the remote git repo isn't available? Haven't been able to figure this out...
1 Funtoo Linux BDFL drobbins Posted October 27, 2017 Funtoo Linux BDFL Report Share Posted October 27, 2017 And it does appear that this was the issue - and it's fixed in our git version of ego and should be fixed in our next release. Until then, if you have the issue, type "cd /tmp" and re-run the command and it should work :)
1 Funtoo Linux BDFL drobbins Posted October 27, 2017 Funtoo Linux BDFL Report Share Posted October 27, 2017 Well meta-repo shouldn't have any branch but master. Why not just mv /var/git/meta-repo /var/git/meta-repo.bak and do an "ego sync" again? It should give you a fresh clone of everything.
0 Funtoo Linux BDFL drobbins Posted October 26, 2017 Funtoo Linux BDFL Report Share Posted October 26, 2017 Are you still having the issue? I'm wondering if it was an intermittent bug triggered by the addition of lang-kit.
0 snappahead
Yes - still getting the same error. I saw your announcement about the lang-kit. I'm pretty sure this error has been showing up for a couple of days on my end

0 Funtoo Linux BDFL drobbins Posted October 27, 2017 Funtoo Linux BDFL Report Share Posted October 27, 2017 This may be caused by being in a directory that is not readable by the portage user when you run the ego sync command. So if you see it in the future, see if changing directories to /var/tmp first helps. We are investigating to see if this is an actual bug.
0 zogg
Just happened to me on 1.3 o.O Moved /var/git/meta-repo and synced from scratch to resolve the issue
