cusco-travel-services
Hi Dan et al, I have a Laptop with a Core i5 3230M CPU and 5400rpm Hard Drive. How long should it take to get to an idle desktop after booting it? Thanks, Michael.
666threesixes666
i did some virtual machine drag racing a while back. uhhh id guess... with sufficient ram 2 minutes or less to fully functioning with firefox running. probably 45 seconds if minimally loaded... it really depends on how much software and boot services you're running. systemd is quicker than windows xp, but its painful to use and has alot of attack surface, and not all services function correctly with it. Peje
My experience is, it depends on the Desktop you use, if it should be up quick i would recomend something fast like lxde, kde takes about 10-15 secs longer to start. cu Peje
