User suspend/shutdown/reboot XFCE

Question

I can't suspend as a user and the xfce power panel doesn't see that I have pm-utils (suspend) installed as it's not listed as an option.

I followed everything here http://www.funtoo.org/Xfce (including the upower/consolekit xml scrips) and have searched around gentoo forums with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

@fossala - the issue may be in the wiki instructions. I got bit by this one, as well. The page says to

 echo "exec startxfce4 --with-ck-launch" > ~/.xinitrc
Try removing "--with-ck-launch" from .xinitrc. Log out and log back in.

Good luck.

It shouldn't be necessary to use upower-pm-utils. It's also irrelevant wherther you use that or the regular upower if the basic pm-utils package does not work.

That said, did you add yourself to the power group?
