I have re-installed funtoo after having accidentally damaged my perfectly functioning one year old installation.
I followed instructions more closely now and changed to next, Gnome (from previous current w Xfce).
Installation went swiftly, but I have stumbled on Audacity:
@lifebook-1 ~ $ emerge -p audacity
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=media-libs/portaudio-19.06.00-r2[alsa?]".
(dependency required by "media-sound/audacity-2.3.3::media-kit" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "audacity" [argument])
I had Audacity running without problems in the earlier install.
