Funtoo Linux BDFL drobbins Posted November 27, 2014 Author Funtoo Linux BDFL Report Share Posted November 27, 2014 You're welcome. I just integrated UEFI into the install guide and tried to make it flow a lot better.
gentoovortex
Uninstalled Slackware 14.1 and followed the guide to a tee to easily do an "Old School" 32-bit install of Funtoo on an 8 year old Compaq Presario V3000 with an Intel Duo Core T5300 (1.73 GHz) processor and 1GB of RAM. Clear, straight to the point instructions without all the "wordiness" of the Gentoo Handbook. Adding modularity will make it easy to add in more notes, maybe references to compile times in individual sections (modules), and make changes according to changes in Funtoo. No more need to edit the "whole" document. Now to replace one of my Gentoo boxen with Funtoo :) N.B. Just for reference, the debian-source binary kernel took about 5 hours to compile on the above said laptop.
aramisqc
Foreign languages support is a very nice feature. I've just started working on French translation. Funtoo installation guide is very clear and concise. It's far less cumbersome than Gentoo one.
