I/O schedulers for desktops

Question

Which is the best one for desktops with spinning disks? I've always used CFQ or BFQ but I was recommended deadline the other day and after looking at a some benchmarks it seems that deadline does have quit good performance. I still don't know which to use though.

I think it depends on your usage patterns. One isn't always better or you wouldn't have choices. If you have 20 apps all writing to different parts of the disk that would be way different than a benchmark.
