greetings
that ebuild is the same on Gentoo.
I'm not a programmer but I saw that Funtoo gcc and Gentoo Gcc ebuild are differents
@Oleg please, can tell us if is safe use Gentoo ebuild, or paste that funtoo ebuild with another packages version (5.4 or 6.2) ?

you can use that of course is as the Stage 3 is compress don't have any problem
but you can use a personal script, I use that
more faster but more size on disk :
tar -cvpf /stage4.tar.xz --directory=/ --exclude=/stage4.tar.xz --exclude=/dev/* --exclude=/lost+found --exclude=/mnt/* --exclude=/proc/* --exclude=/run/* --exclude=/sys/* --exclude=/tmp/* --exclude=/var/log/* --exclude=/var/run/* --exclude=/var/tmp/* /
or that more slow(very slow) but less than half of the other option :
tar -cpvf - --directory=/ --exclude=/stage4.tar.xz --exclude=/dev/* --exclude=/lost+found --exclude=/mnt/* --exclude=/proc/* --exclude=/run/* --exclude=/sys/* --exclude=/tmp/* --exclude=/var/log/* --exclude=/var/run/* --exclude=/var/tmp/* . | xz -9e -c - > /stage4.tar.xz
of course you can change the exclude folders and files as you wish.

put the system partition on kernel
Processor type and features >>> Built-in kernel command line >>> Built-in kernel command string
and put the string with the path to partition system
take a look : https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/EFI_stub_kernel

normalmente eu comento a USE="..." no make.conf para instalar o glew ele da incopatibilidade com algumas uses.
comenta o #USE=".." no make e da emerge ele direto com --nodeps depois continua.
I normally comment the USE="..." on make.conf to install the glew package sometime hace conflicts with few use flags
so you can comment and after install uncomment and keep going

I create a article about it
http://forums.funtoo.org/topic/1042-stages4-and-a-livedvd/
I want create a binhost server with separeted -march, I'll start with my arch "haswell" if you have interest will be great someone else that understood the Portage system too.
-
-
maybe he need use a "emerge --depclean " before "emerge -auDN @world"
that what I would make
-
Hi folks, I create a article on (vivaolinux) is a great forum about Linux and software on Brazil.
link : https://www.vivaolinux.com.br/topico/Funtoo/LiveDVD-e-Stage4-para-o-Funtoo
is not a article but more a ideia to request users to help to make that ideia real.
so, that is the resume of the text :
I'm a Funtoo user about 2 years and Gentoo user one year before and I think that missing a Livedvd to Funtoo and Stages4 with more packges as "Xorg" or some desktop as "Plasma 5"
Gentoo has now "again" a LiveDVD
Gentoo LiveDVD : http://gentoo.mirrors.tds.net/pub/gentoo//releases/amd64/20160704/
and Stages4 to Cloud :
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/releases/amd64/autobuilds/current-stage4-amd64-cloud/
the Area31 has a Livecd too, but is not like I talk about :
https://www.area31.net.br/wiki/RescueCD_oficial
so, the question is reduse the time to install the system of course more one option not change to a easy system like sabayon as a example.
but has stages with more packges and few desktops, to make the installation more faster, of course all of this optimized by arch as the current Stages3 that Funtoo hasand a liveDVD as Gentoo with a installer, to new users, again as other option beyond CLI
to make the Distro more popular, to explore more the potention of this amazing distro.so what your members think about it ?
thanks

Hi, I tested the Metro days ago and is amazing, but I have alot of questions and I don't find a documentation, just a simple tutorial
link : http://www.funtoo.org/Metro
I'm not an expert on Funtoo so I need a documentation to learn.
example of few questions:
- how can I add a make.conf modificated to new stage
- change the python version
- change the gcc version and recompile the toolchain
I really appreciate if someone create a article with more details about Meto.
thank you.
-
thank you for answer, someone more expert could update the ebuild to 5.4 ?
and have a wiki updated about use Clang ?
-
Hi folks, I wonder if may I use the Gentoo ebuild to install the GCC 5.4, I looked and the funtoo gcc 5.3-r1 ebuild is different of gentoo 5.3 or 5.4 ebuild
is safe use the gentoo ebuild to do that ?
