  1. Hello guys, does anyone here has already configure funtoo on a intel processor serie i7 with haswell as microarchitecture? If yes, could post here to me the dmesg and the .config of the kernel? I'm having a lot of trouble to make this work. And I really don't know why, but I'm almost sure that I've a hardware problem and not a kernel configuration problem, but I want to be sure, and I think I can be a little more sure if I compare my kernel configuration with the configuration of someone that has this configuration working. Thank you guys! Happy new year to all !!!
  2. Thanks drobbins, I'm gonna take a lot on how do I disect a kernel. And any ideas on the sound matter?! It seems really strange to me, because sounds work really fine on the internet, but not at desktop applications, like mplayer.
  3. Hello guys, I'm having problems with kernel panic again and also with my sound. It seems that the kernel panic only occurs when I'm trying to emerge mplayer with the use flags a52 and ffmpeg. I could emerge mplayer without this two flags. And I can't get sound on mplayer/smplayer working, but I can get the sound working on the videos from youtube. I've here my dmesg and kernel configuration for more expert users can take a look and see if there is something (I know there is, but not what exactly) wrong. Just some points, after a while I gave up trying to install funtoo with crypt HD using LVM and busybox, I'll come back to that later, but for now, I need my notebook for work. So I have installed the funtoo in a very normal way, GPT uncrypted, using gentoo-sources and genkernel. Here is the config files: dmesg: https://bpaste.net/show/f0883dc6d635 kernel: https://bpaste.net/show/f1aa0e87a00a Thanks guys! PS: I tried to take a photo of the screen but the image got all fuzzy, so whenever it occurs again I'll try to get a better photo and post here.
  4. I've started with a major kernel, I'm using gentoo-sources. Instead of merge debian-souces, Can't I do this with gentoo-sources? I was thinking about booting with funtoo cd and chroot the environment then create a .config and use that to my kernel. It's a good idea?! Thanks!
  5. Hello guys!!! I'm having a lot of trouble with kernel panic on my funtoo system. I've tried to use the syslog-ng to get some log in order to debug, but it didn't work. So, I'm here to ask you, how can I debug a kernel panic? I think that I'm missing some configuration in the kernel, but don't know for sure. Later, when I got home I'll post here some for details about the my kernel e gcc options. In the meanwhile could anybody give me some tips about how to debug? Thanks!
  6. My problem was that I've installed in my system the tree packages sys-fs/eudev, sys-fs/mdev and sys-fs/udev. I take mdev and udev out... reboot the system and now is everything working. Thanks a lot for the help!
  7. @sputnik, justo for clarification by "OP", who you mean? @drobbins, I'm gonna take udev out. And see what happens, I post the result here later. Thanks guys!
  8. Yes I've. And I've udev as well. Should I take one out? If yes, which one?
  9. Hello, does anybody knows why my usb mouse works when a turn my machine on with usb mouse attached to it and it does not work when my usb mouse it's not? I've check out the modules and they are the same. I've re-emerge xf86-input-evdev and xf86-input-mouse. But didn't work. Thank you!
  10. Ryo, it's possible it's related to BIOS (EFI). But I don't know exactly... What I know is that I'm afraid to sleep with my laptop turned on... because of the kernel panic. =\
  11. Hello guys, I'm having a little problem with ACPI I got this error at dmesg: # dmesg |grep -i error [ 11.683927] ACPI Error: [\_SB_.PCI0.GFX0.DD02._BCL] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20131218/psargs-359) [ 11.683931] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.RP05.PEGP.DD02._BCL] (Node ffff88022707b050), AE_NOT_FOUND (20131218/psparse-536) And I don't really know if by it self is a problem. What a know is that from time to time I got a kernel panic, related to this. So I've made some research and a lot of the topics I found tell me just: "don't worry... just reboot yout computer." But that's not really a soluction, is it? Anyone has had this problem? Any tips on how can I fix it? Thanks!
