Whenever possible, please perform the new installation using minimal security settings. For desktop users, it's highly recommended to create a fully encrypted root system using LUKS. Additionally, activating secure boot (UEFI) with or without SHIM is advisable. Also, consider using the debian-sources kernel with module signing support, enabling you to boot your Funtoo system with module.sig_enforce=1. Remember, not using LUKS today poses a significant security risk.

The latest version of the official Funtoo LiveCD supports Apple computers using intel processor, just boot using a USB device. I've only tested it with balenaEtcher, but it should work with other tools to create bootable USB, like Ventoy. I recommend testing, here on the macbook air everything worked, including wi-fi. Enjoy! Hello everybody! We know that the Gentoo project has recently removed the zoneminder ebuild due to lack of maintainers, and also some overlays have given up on maintaining it. We at Funtoo decided to keep the zoneminder active and up to date, and we released a new release on yesterday's date, and it works on 1.4 and Next release. ZoneMinder is open source software used to capture, analyse, record, and monitor cameras.

My question is: How did you manage to use Gentoo SysRescueCD garbage anyway? I have created my own livecd about 3 years ago, Funtoo Linux based because I could not use it on my client servers due to lack of kernel hardware support.SysRescueCD's Gentoo used old software, had a horrible graphical xfce4 environment, and was rarely updated. At most they updated Gentoo ebuilds.
