  1. Funtoo have irregular tree updates (different time) but within 24 hrs.
  2. this will not work before updating world as gnome packages that installed will try to merge good portion of gnome dependencies back.
  3. epro mix-in -gnome +kde-plasma-5 emerge -auDN @world emerge plasma-meta
  4. Hiya! http://www.funtoo.org/News:Perl_Update
  5. using of "p" option is shown in above command how do you see it now shown in tar xpf? maybe you confused with "p" and "-p"? Your problem is not really related to unpacking of tarball, if you used tar xpf, you are fine. What were your steps before getting this boot failure.
  6. so, you also need to use eclasses from mysql overlay too.
  7. paste ebuild from your local repository
  8. yes, more RAM will fix this. As said, chromium on 64-bit systems during compilation exceeding 2Gb(and there is no 32 bit version from upstream anymore).
  9. you can by-pass this by: I_KNOW_WHAT_I_AM_DOING="1" emerge chromium however during compilation system calls exceeds 2GB on 64 bit for chromium, so it may surely fail. Yes, binary version could be an alternative.
  10. this snippet is not enough to understand. paste full build.log
  11. and what are you trying to install? DE or something else? emerge --info, epro show mix-ins output could help
  12. cd /usr/portage git --reset hard emerge --sync
  13. this is no longer installed. you shouldn't use addwifi
  14. i don't think it's possible in a normal way. you could probably create a virtual interface on your physical interface with different mac's assigned.
  15. i'm not sure what you mean. it's needed activated only if you want to use SElinux.
  16. you don't need to run update of use-local-desc. it's in included in portage tree. But real problem in your case was missing --repo=gentoo
  17. why do you run egencache --update-use-local-desc?
  18. ok, so world update did fix this? a problem is that dev-perl/SGMLSpm should be present on your system. Since, it's a cross-report by another person, i'd like to have user, who actually facing a problem look in https://bugs.funtoo.org/browse/FL-3322
  19. Hi! SElinux mix-in now enabled in Funtoo Linux profile. http://www.funtoo.org/News:Selinux_Support Thx to Ryan Decker for his mix-in and SElinux testing.
