xD Comparing with the other distros, even the Debian Testing, are using all 4.9.2 but us (in Gentoo unstable, it's not masked like here). I'd unmask it, but I'm afraid of everything is going to break. So if anybody who tries it, tells me that's it's secure, I'll do.
-
It's still masked, and I don't know why :(

Qt5 apps don't use the GTK style in non-GNOME desktops
jorgicio replied to jorgicio's question in Desktop Help
Well... qtgui and qtwidgets now support the gtkstyle useflag. Sync the tree, and then, reinstall it. Recommended: set the gtkstyle useflag as global. -
Qt5 apps don't use the GTK style in non-GNOME desktops
jorgicio replied to jorgicio's question in Desktop Help
Yes, considering that a good solution, is adding the GTK style as a USE-flag, and/or patching the configure script to allow using the gtkstyle. Autodetecting the option value is not working very well, I think. -
Qt5 apps don't use the GTK style in non-GNOME desktops
jorgicio replied to jorgicio's question in Desktop Help
Nevermind, I got what happened: qtwidgets has gtkstyle disabled by default. A workaround, is unpacking, editing the configure script to force the gtkstyle enabled, compiling "manually", all with ebuild. Then, restart the session. Now it's working, but it still uses the QFileDialog, but GTK+-ish. I hope this would be fixed in future releases, because editing that file every compiling time, is boring. -
I tried setting the XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP, and XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP to GNOME, and the QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE to gtk, and it doesn't work. In fact, it uses the Windows one. Also, it doesn't use the GTK file dialog, but the QStyle one. I'm using MATE, and QT 5.4.1. If qtwidgets wasn't compiled with gtk style, hoy can I do?

That's pretty good, but... how about the subarchs with AVX, AVX2, etc. ? (SandyBridge) My CFLAGS is "-march=corei7-avx -O2 -pipe"
-
I still have problems with Samba 4.1.17. Now it uses ntdb as a standalone package, but when I leave the NONE in the built-in libraries in the Samba ebuild, it fails at compile.

LightDM makes Pulseaudio using too much CPU?
jorgicio replied to jorgicio's question in Desktop Help
Nevermind: I had to solve that by myself: I had the file .profile with the line: export PULSE_MSEC_LATENCY=30 And I didn't know LightDM uses that file, so I had to delete that line. Now, it's solved. Thanks anyways. -
Installing Cinammon... With entire GNOME desktop?
jorgicio replied to jorgicio's question in Desktop Help
Yes, I know, but... why does it force to install lots of GNOME components, such as Nautilus, when Cinnamon uses Nemo; and the gnome-session and gnome-desktop packages? -
Hi! Yesterday, I tried to install Cinnamon, and also added the mix-in for that. I noticed that includes the USE-flag "gnome" globally. However, when I want to do the emerge -NDvau @world, It also wants to install the entire GNOME desktop: the session, Nautilus, and lots of other components. And Cinnamon is, supossedly, independent from GNOME since the 2.0 release, but I noticed it's not so. This is my make.conf. # These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically # built this stage. # Please consult /usr/share/portage/config/make.conf.example for a more # detailed example. Nevermind, I answer myself: I had to enable the Waltop HID interface in the kernel. Recompiled and worked. Thanks! :D

dev-libs/libxml2 icu flag -- Installing Anki and Chromium On the Same System
jorgicio replied to tjones2's question in Portage Help
Try setting the useflag "icu" as a global (in /etc/portage/make.conf) instead of a local useflag. Then, try the emerge --NDvau @world, and install both packages you mentioned. -

Able to build some binaries for other architectures. For example: avr, for Arduino developers.
-
:O How did you add the suffix for your kernel version?
-
Am I dreaming or too beautiful for being reality? I noticed some Funtoo gcc ebuilds now come with toolchain included (not all ebuilds, of course) If so, well... thanks! EDIT: Crap... they were removed and remained only the Funtoo ebuilds without toolchain <.<

dev-python/imaging does not install "Imaging.h", "ImPlatform.h"
jorgicio replied to Philipp Ludwig's question in Desktop Help
Breaking news: The problem is definitively fixed with the new upgrade of imaging. So my workaround is not needed anymore. -
Well... as I noticed, that's fixed. I have mcpdf installed, and when I want to install impressive, Portage doesn't claim. So I assume that issue is fixed.
-
Well, yesterday I did a test: I tried LightDM on KDE (with the KDE Greeter). However, the CPU usage by Pulseaudio is higher (around 20%) than when I use KDM as a session manager (around 5-10%). Does it happen to anyone else? Why? Reducing niceness and setting low priority to Pulseaudio may be a solution, but that's not the idea.
-
Well, I mean another initramfs image fallback kernel. When I used Gentoo and compiled the kernel with genkernel, it generated 2 images: a normal one and a fallback one. Funtoo genkernel generates only one. Just saying...
-
There are lots of them: http://www.alexpasquarella.com/p/google-now-wallpapers.html I used a dusk wallpaper of Tahoe :D
-
Anyone using KDE? Well... Here is mine. A MATE-like KDE.
-
WOW! I'd give an opportunity to that to know how it's going on. Thanks. Also... how can I generate a fallback kernel?
