kitapenas reacted to angus71 in Installation, lost at "chroot"
    Hi there!
I'm new to funtoo - to linux too to be honest... :-)
I tried an installation according to the section "install" at the website.
Everything worked until i came to the headline "chroot into Funtoo"; actualy in this part it's NOT
mentioned how to chroot in the new system EXACTLY.
I tried several approachses like "chroot /dev/sdc" because there would be my root directory, according
to the previous steps.. But it doesn't work a bit. I searched the net but found nothing that helped me.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help

BPF stands for Berkeley Packet Filter, with this target enabled, llvm will have specific code for this, which is used in some firewalls, etc. It's enabed for generic purposes, you can disable it.
NVPTX is rather about nvidia-drivers, not nouveau. It enables specific code needed for CUDA, OpenCl and other code that can be used by gpu chips (nvidia in this particular case). Not sure nouveau does that.

Portage is a great "package manager" ... for me is the best for source-based ......
it requires initially time; but once yu've comprised the mechanism .... you will be able to know the great and "invincible (imho) flexibility" of that meta-distribution :)

    Hello :)

I hope that what I write may be understandable; if by chance I say something you do not understand .... say so quietly. Also you can take a look to man emerge man portage man make.conf ____________________________ There is Also the irc channel on "Freenode" #funtoo ______________________________ For bugs: bugs.funtoo.org   __________________________________________________________________   This may be be utile. in the case You use kde/plasma-5   echo "=dev-qt/qtwebkit-4.8.6-r1 -gstreamer">>/etc/portage/package.use   However there is another thing: In Your make.conf you have ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" But in emerge --info compares ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64 ~amd64". You must choice from "stable" (amd64) or "current (amd64 ~amd64). So that i'd like to know your ego profile show and know wath you really want. :)

If this method doesn't run, post your
    cat /var/lib/portage/world
    cat /etc/portage/make.conf
If the portage requires "emerge @preserved-rebuild", simply make:
    # emerge @preserved-rebuild
