Unfortunately, even using your "technique" ... I always have problems with the "switch user" (Could it depend on some "USE flag")?
Forgive my ignorance .... so far it seems to me "resolutive" only the use of lightdm :|forgive me if I "bored" you with my posts.

If You're with 1.1, i think that you can upgrade your system to 1.2ß ....

I reccomend >=gentoo-sources [experimental] 4.16.8 to have a patched kernel vs "Meltdown" & "Spectre" without graphical troubles if you'll use GNome3 desktop.

My friend "morphmex" and I have seen that using gentoo-sources> 4.16.3 to 4.16.7 (also with the sources of vanilla), with gnome (problem also present in Gentoo anyway), trying to pass the pre-existing icons in the left sidebar, the DE crashed, returning the gdm screen after a while: | Now I have tried with the latest gentoo-sources (4.16.8) and the problem is no longer represented.
I imagine the problem may be present in the latest kernel versions to "stem" Meldown and "Specter"; however, the 4.16.8 seems to me really improved ^^
If I'm wrong, correct me ^^ -

Hmm ... ok ; I've a Nvidia GTX 660 that supports cuda and "OpenCL" (but i know that AMD Radeon are better in OpenCL).
however, even if the "OpenCL" performances are inferior to multithread cpu calculations, the problem still persists in blender, denying the possibility of usqare (and maybe make comparisons) between opencl or cpu with multithreading.
I hope I have correctly described my thought ^^However Thank You for "Your Words" ^^

Hi; since i want to use blender, trying to install it i've errors.
To make possible the right compilation i had to disable opencl "local USE flags".
However, as opencl uses gpu to speed up the calculations, I wondered if there was another way to solve, or be able to rehabilitate opencl and possibly modify other "use flags".
