(and yes the wiki needs your attention) i just run "exec startxfce4" as i figure if xfce4's going to be working, and working right it should work from the command line startxfce4 (instead of startx)
id take out the lightdm stuff and move it over to the lightdm package page if its missing any of that, and place a link to the xdm page.

i learned from slackware punishing my slackware with linux from scratch manuals..... i dont have efi equipment =/ i use a method similar to gentoo's kernel/manual method on their wiki. the cheater method to build a kernel is use lsmod from live media, then compile all modules into your kernel as Y... you dont need a initrd... you MUST compile your file system in as Y...
CONFIG_DEVTMPFS=yCONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT=yok.... emerge your vanilla sources... run make clean && make distclean && make mrproper.... once that's done make menuconfig.... in menuconfig you press / and then a search menu comes up, type in "devtmpfs" to find it in the configs... repeat the process press / search for module found in lsmod output....once your kernels configured, make && make modules_install && make installabove produces a kernel that will boot.... insert your kernel via efi modes or grubs or what ever... i use lilo and made a wiki page of it... there is a package called elilo for efi but i dont have any equipment to test any of this.... fix the wiki documentation if you get it working. -
allow me to chime in with my shitty 2 cents.... google-chrome the bin package is like 1000x better than that shitty chromium. that is all (and it looks like it just wants the minizip useflag turned on. im pretty sure emerge -1 zlib would be doing the same thing as uninstalling and reinstalling)

above seems like a hot ticket. idk if i should forward feature requests to networkmanager or not. i sent them a request for an iptables gui and they told me to get lost. any tips & tricks to throttling bandwidth would be appreciated. if its good and concise post it to the wiki and link me. =D

do good in school, make sure your marks are excellent. jobs in capitalist merica demand your report card kicks ass. learn the subject material really well then write essays, and apply for honorary phd degrees. get a BS then honorary phd... that's my advice... i cant do much more than associates because im full retard and good at failing.

SYSTEMD is a turd that won't flush. its resulted in huge troll threads @ gentoo, its flawed, straight up.... i tried to be a systemd fanboi for a year at least... it boots quick but its junky. i liked upstart better. most of the systemd support on gentoo's official wiki came from me.....

were starting to get a STRONG wiki team assembled. im still working on polluting the wiki with logic. all you have to do is specify the video card to your make.conf and im still working on that document... its still a bit rough at the moment regarding determining which card you need to configure. (you can break the rules and look at gentoo's wiki with your specific card) if it doesn't say emerge xorg-server xorg-x11 it will.....
the thing about funtoo's wiki is that it contains excellent editing instructions so even a lvl 2 noob can make excellent content additions and revisions....
