hi @juan Welcome to the community 🙂
We have an open bug report for your librsvg issue and I am happy to report that it appears to be fixed! currently In Progress with a PR merged https://bugs.funtoo.org/browse/FL-12332
If you sync now, you should be able to continue -
@sabaton please use https://bugs.forums.org for bug reports
FYI it emerges fine on my test container
-
@bpaddock Your problem has now been reported at https://bugs.funtoo.org/browse/FL-12051
-
Hi @bpaddock people have successfully upgraded but it is unsupported. Please back up your system before proceeding!
QuoteWe do not recommend upgrading 1.4-release to next in-place. These instructions exist for those who are interested in attempting this. It is highly recommended to install next-release as a fresh installation. Several users have reported complications during upgrade. It is more likely to work seamlessly on headless server systems and is not supported on desktops. Please back up your system before proceeding. If you proceed, you take full responsibility for the outcome and any problems encountered.

Hi @albatro74 I can confirm this error. Please file a ticket on bugs.funtoo.org so we can properly triage and fix it for everyone!
In the meantime, you should be able to proceed with the following work-around:
# rm /var/git/meta-repo/kits/desktop-kit/net-print/hplip-3.23.12/files/012_hplip-3.20.6-hppsfilter-fix-return-values.patch
-
@sabaton this appears to have been resolved in Harvester branch, which I believe will merge into master today. You'll see it with dev-python/sphinx-7.2.5 update
-
hi @sabaton Please use the issue tracker at bugs.funtoo.org for bug reports.
Your issue may have already been reported here https://bugs.funtoo.org/browse/FL-11580
-
@aitikin I think in general it's safe to write up a Bug for something like this. Also, Please mark this as Solved
-
@sabaton Thanks for the reporting that you have an issue, however the forums here isn't a good place to get support for them!
Fortunately it looks like someone else had this same issue and filed a ticket https://bugs.funtoo.org/browse/FL-11384
@drobbins performed a commit to lock the autogen to version 2022.12.01, so your issue should be resolved 😄 -
Hi @loonylion thanks for your efforts on this! Selecting the best subarch for a system can really be a challenge...
I've been using Skylake subarch on my laptop with Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40GHz without issue, but your script says I should use Broadwell instead due to missing cpuflag SGX
I found this informative article on it: https://phoenixnap.com/kb/intel-sgx
Great work on this script though! It gives a ton of output while still being readable 😄
EDIT: I took ANOTHER look in the BIOS options and found it, Intel SGX when enabled in BIOS changed the output of your script to recommend Skylake subarch

@aitikin ah okay, I wonder if you are still on Funtoo 1.4-release? That could explain why it would fail for you, as there aren't many users left to report issues. In any case, I recommend reporting this as a Bug.
@radek is running into the same issue, caused by old gcc? FYI next-release we have sys-devel/gcc-11.3.0-r1
-
Hello @aitikin sorry for the delayed response...
I am confident a fresh repo sync and world update will solve this problem for you. I didn't see anything relevant on http://bugs.funtoo.org and I've installed successfully myself.
In future, if you're running into a bug like this, you can write a ticket on Jira there using your same login. Just please remember to read the instructions. Good luck!

Hello @fredmyra! There are no official 3rd party emerge repos for Funtoo. The package was likely dropped in the upgrade to Next-release, the current release. Fortunately it looks like this package is available on Flathub
Just follow the instructions provided below
https://funtoo.org/Flatpakhttps://flathub.org/apps/details/org.musescore.MuseScore
If there is other software you use that isn't available in Funtoo or with Flatpak, you can open an Improvement report at http://bugs.funtoo.org and request it be added.
thanks for your attention -
Hi @prof I brought this up in the community discord, and it appears to be a valid bug/enhancement, so I went ahead created one.

hi @minou666 and welcome!
I was not able to get the kicad 6 gentoo ebuild to install, but I did find that it is on Flathub. I would encourage you to give that a shot and see if it fits your needs.

hi dubs, welcome to the community! I've had no issue installing strongswan, so please try again. Also, do you perhaps mean libreswan? That does fail for me too, but it appears to be an old version in the tree anyway. If you use libreswan, please make a ticket on bugs.funtoo.org (you can use the same login).

many packages, ESPECIALLY media packages were pruned as they had no Funtoo maintainer. Many of us, myself included, use Next-release as a daily driver on desktop, but there's till plenty of room for improvement. We've got a bug open to bring Rhythmbox back to next, we could use another tester! If you're up to it, you can follow these instructions to add a local overlay, and include the latest ebuild attached to this bug.

hi @hick518 welcome!
it appears to be an old version of Strawberry in the tree, so this may simply be an issue that they've already fixed. There is a bug open, but until we update it in the tree, please try this version on flathub. It's pretty easy to get set-up with Flatpak if you're not already.
