  1. If you have the ebuilds in an overlay, and you are maintaining them, the best way to integrate them into Funtoo is for us to add them to our automatic merge scripts. This will ensure that that latest versions of your ebuilds are included in the Portage tree. You just continue to commit to your overlay as normal, and they get merged into Funtoo.

    I'd recommed that approach.

Do your ebuilds replace ones already in Gentoo/Funtoo with better versions, or are they not in Gentoo/Funtoo?

I don't believe they're in Funtoo/Gentoo.  The overlays I found seem to be externally maintained in layman.  But, I'm pretty new to this whole process, so perhaps that qualifies them as being included.

I'm not sure how well maintained the others are, but I use Plex everyday and maintain my installation quite voraciously.

  2. Not that I have any say in this at all, but as I understand it, Kickstarter is more for a defined project with an end date and specific goals that would be met.  Would Funtoo, being a Linux distribution, qualify as that?  Funtoo is an ongoing thing that will (hopefully) never see an end.  What would backers be getting in return?

I could be entirely wrong, I don't know much about Kickstarter, but I'm not sure the format fits.

  3. For all of us here I am sure this is a topic that we feel strongly about.  However, it's surprising to me how many do not really understand the issue at hand.  The powers that be have done an excellent job at covering up the true scope of this change and have mollified those who it would affect the most into inaction.

For those of you who want to know more, this is a very comedic yet completely accurate layman's piece on the situation with Net Neutrality.  I would encourage everyone to watch it, even those well versed in the politics of the issue.  It's fun and it presents a lot of great information.  And it is really... REALLY funny :)
