[Getting Rid of Forums and Moving to Reddit?]

Not a direct answer, but some things to think about along same general lines.

 

I'm seeing a big trend in moving away from forums to more instant communication, like Gitter or Slack with IRC bridges enabled.

 

I'm a big fan of important problems solved in instant communications being posted in wiki and not relying on a forum to archive solutions.

 

The "Yours Network", reddit fixed with bitcoin (voting, curating and publishing are rewarded monetarily in a decentralized manner), is launching early 2017.

Well, we could take some major improvements and new features and bundle them up into a project, set some goals and end dates. One of the features would need to be something with shock factor, I would think.

Perfect, that sounds like a great idea! Additionally, I've taken the liberty to create a "New Hotness" RSS feed from the Funtoo bug tracker. It'll give you all new features and improvements! I figured I'd start with that in Trsst

I set the display name setting in the forums to my username, though, it seems my posts are still marked as posted by "firstName lastName"

I'm in the process of migrating over to an encrypted twitter clone called Trsst. One of the ways I can follow people is via their RSS/Atom feed so I can "retweet" post from feeds. I'd love to be able to follow Funtoo there and share Funtoo news there. If anyone finds out when the Funtoo feed is back up, I'd very much appreciate hearing about it! Thanks in advance.
