  1. Hi if I am missing anything relevant plz let me know: + I removed dev-util/sysprof -gtk to package.use to obtain the errors again: + My make.conf file is as follows and I try to use "euse" to mod it: USE="dbus udisks -bindist -systemd -gnome -dvdr -cups -bluetooth \ -smartcard alsa pulseaudio qt5 introspection consolekit kde xinerama" L10N="en_US" LINGUAS="en_US" ( I have tons of questions about xinerama but that is outside the scope of this post ) + emerge --info gnome-extra/sushi ===========================
  2. Tried ego sync latter today and no error. To compile sysprof I added dev-util/sysprof -gtk to package.use, I feel this is not the right thing to do. But now I get a similar error with gnome-extra/sushi What should I do? What's the correct way to approach this?. Thanks in advance.
  3. Should I post a bug report or am I the only one affected?.
  4. ego sync and yesterday when I ran a world complete update it was stopped by sysproof and other gnome-kit related packages:

  6. Hi falling asleep in front of the PC while trying to fix this . . . It is my first time dealing with Overlays, Layman and Flatpak sry in advance if I made some obvious mistakes. I'm currently trying to install Flatpak thru layman to install Steam from the Flathub + What I did so far was: nano /etc/portage/package.use/app-portage app-portage/layman git sync-plugin-portage # ego sync # emerge -auvDN layman https://github.com/fosero/flatpak-overlay https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Layman#Adding_custom_repositories # layman -o https://raw.githubuserco
  7. And how would the 32lib libraries would be handled by Flatpak? Why did you choose the Flatpak method over the others? I just want to understand the different methods so I can make my choice, I been checking the posts drobbins and the Funtoo and Gentoo Wikies, but I still feel I need more info. Thanks for your reply.
  8. Hi I wanted to know if there could be any advantage or utility to use Steam thru Flatpak, chroot or Stow (https://www.gnu.org/software/stow/) and be pointed to the appropiate guides. Also where could I orientate my self to get an AMD accelerated docker container to run steam?. Thanks for your time.
  9. My main misconception was thinking that awesome was being closed when I swapped among ttys I failed to notice that AwesomeWM was a child of the selected tty and was being displayed on the first tty unused by agetty, the messages I was getting were the result of its execution. Generally speaking X sessions are expected to be spawned on tty7+. So my the "tidying" up was: /etc/inittab Auto login to tty6. # TERMINALS c1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty --noclear 38400 tty1 linux c2:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty2 linux c3:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty3 linux c4:2345:r

  11. Hi another new Funtoo user here : https://www.funtoo.org/Package:Awesome_(Window_Manager) for KDE Funtoo has the kde mix-in and in Gentoo's wiki they recommend gnome, doc, dbus, luajit USE flags , I was wondering : Q1 - Is there an equivalent or recommended mix-in for this or other Windows Managers? X? Q2 - I don't understand why they recommend gnome and dbus as a USE flags for this app. Q3 - I'm mostly interested in seting luajit flag. a) Does Funtoo support it? ; b) How do I check this on my own so I don't bother anyone? ; c) is there a way to see which flags a package i
