  1. I have followed proposal in announcement and added `-suid` to xorg-server use flags. That made it fail. And fail really badly (seems like it was in the crazy loop of start, failing, repeat so that vtty was REALLY had to use). I'm using gdm with gnome-light so I thought I should be fine (according to that message) .

    PS: I would have written this as reply to announcement, but replies on announcements are prohibited to plebs like me.

  2. Still experiencing this issue from time to time. :(( Started:

    emerge --ask --verbose --tree --update --newuse --deep --with-bdeps=y @world

    Which causes upgrade of linux-firmware, which is around 140MB and according to emerge fetch log it will take me 1.5 hours:

  3. Hi!

    I know that fastpull server idea is to guarantee distfile availablility, but it's incredibly slow for me (in Spain):

  4. Hello.

    I have created `/etc/profile.d/xdg_cache_home.sh` with following contents:

    #!/bin/sh
    export XDG_CACHE_HOME="/tmp/${USER}/.xdg-cache"

    Today I found that gdm tries to create `$XDG_CACHE_HOME` when `$USER` was not yet set, which leads to `/tmp/.xdg-cache` being created. Everything works fine - it's just that empty dir annoys me a bit. So I started to digging up if I placed that file correctly and now I'm a bit lost, as seems like I had to add env var definition into `/etc/env.d` instead. Thus I have two questions:

    1. (main one) where one should define that env var if he wants non-standard value? inside `profile.d` or `env.d` (if he wants global default).

    2. There's man that describes purpose of env.d, but I'm struglling to find any description of profile.d
