So I assume I should increase the spacing in the fstab file?
-
So does everything in the file have to be inline with one another or not?
-
Does this look correct?:
/dev/sda1 /home xfs defaults,noatime0 2
When using nano, I am getting no space between the <opts> and <dump/p$> sections

How can I modify fstab to have sdb1, my home partition in? It currently looks like this:
NOTE: dev/sdb1 is the home partition
# /etc/fstab: static file system information # # The root filesystem should have a pass number of either 0 or 1. # All other filesystems should have a pass number of 0 or greater than 1. # # NOTE: If your BOOT partition is ReiserFS, add the notail option to opts # # See the manpage fstab(5) for more information # # <fs> <mountpoint> <type> <opts> <dump/p$> /dev/sda1 /boot ext2 noauto.noatime 1 2 /dev/sda2 none swap sw 0 0 /dev/sda3 / xfs noatime 0 1 /dev/sdb1 #/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto noauto,ro 0 0 -
So would a high-powered laptop CPU like a Core i5-7300 HQ or Core i7-7700HQ be better suited for the job? (High GHz, Quad Core). Where would I use -j, and what does it do?
If you can could you possibly reccomend a laptop good for Funtoo Linux that isn't over 2000 NZD (around 1500 USD) that would work well with KDE (if possible)

Would a quad-core 1.1GHz Intel Pentium N4200 be good enough?
I wouldn't have that many "heavyweight" programs. The only "heavyweight" programs I would have would be Vivaldi (web browser) and VirtualBox (Virtualisation Software)

Is it possible to use apt-get along with portage? My reason for doing this is that i require a ppa for the system76 driver. That would be the only reason for wanting to use apt-get.
Also, has the system76 repo been forked so it is compatible with Funtoo?

What would be the expected average compile times on this Linux box and would I need a larger PSU?
SPECS:
Applications I plan to compile: VBox, ClamAV, LibreOffice, Dolphin, Vivaldi, SpiderOak, GNOME
