I'm looking for some genkernel advice.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like the funtoo genkernel fork in github will build a kernel with usb 3.0 support. Is this fork used by the ports2012 genkernel ebuild? I think it doesn't from what I have seen. Are there known steps to get the fork in a metro build?
I am using this livecd step by step as a basis for a custom metro build. It works well except for the fact that the kernel on the livecd doesn't support usb 3.0. Should I bite the bullet and learn how to customize genkernel in my custom metro build?

fcano, It's turned off by default in the latest released version. It's only set to load the module if you enable it using --menuconfig
If you look here: https://github.com/funtoo/genkernel/blo … nel-config
You'll see '# CONFIG_USB_XHCI_HCD is not set'
If you feel like it should be enable in the config by default. Please open a bug at bugs.funtoo.org so it can be discussed.
