Boot-update doesn't add my FreeBSD installation

Boot-update is not recognizing my FreeBSD 10 installation (which is on /dev/sda3), therefore I imagine I have to edit my /etc/boot.conf, but I don't know what exactly to add.

I also couldn't find anything on the wiki regarding manually adding entries.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Boot-update doesn't add my FreeBSD installation

I managed to boot FreeBSD 10 by adding the following entry to /boot/grub/grub.cfg

menuentry "FreeBSD 10" {
insmod part_msdos
insmod ufs2
set root=(hd0,3)
chainloader +1
}

But this isn't really ideal as boot-update deletes this entry, meaning every time I want to update or change my Funtoo kernel I will need to edit grub.cfg manually.  Is there a way to simply add FreeBSD to boot.conf?

@Spicy Sandwich:
Currently there's not an option for FreeBSD though you could try adding it to boot.conf as type "haiku" since all you really need is it to chainload. I'll see about adding an option to boot-update when i have time.

Re: Boot-update doesn't add my FreeBSD installation

Are there any plans for boot-update to scan other partitions?  Just curious, as that is probably the feature I miss the most compared to 'grub-mkconfig'.

I should note that everything else about Funtoo as been superb, I don't mean to just complain.

There's support for distros on other partitions though it's not quite as automatic as grub-mkconfig. Take a look at the man page for boot.conf. Theres a section called 'LINUX DISTRIBUTIONS ON SEPERATE PARTITIONS' which covers it.
