I need to install a dual boot native EUFI with Funtoo e Windows. How can I do it?
There is no guide for this and those ones I find are incomplete or Workaround that don't work.
Anyone can help me, please??
Thank you so much
Hi there, I'd like to bump this topic, because there is still not too much information about installing funtoo-win7 dual-boot on UEFI system. Actually even installing funtoo/gentoo in UEFI system isn't well documented.
AFAIK to install dual-boot, disk need to by partitioned this way:
sda1 ~100MB fat32 ef00 - EFI partition used by Linux and Windows
sda4 NTFS Win7 partition
Next step is to install Win7 - Windows .efi files will be placed in EFI partition. At this moment Win7 loads properly.
There is a problem when it comes to installing funtoo in UEFI mode. Can somebody clarify is it necessary to "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/funtoo/boot"? Is this mounting bootloader-dependent? Regarding to gentoo installation guide (note at the bottom of site) it should not be mounted, because elilo take care about that. But what about other bootloaders? AFAIK elilo doesn't support multiple OSes, so I'm considering using GRUB2 or rEFInd. What about those bootloaders, is this necessary to mount /boot to sda1?
Next thing: configuring, building and installing kernel. According to link delivered by skunk, kernel should be copied into /EFI/Boot/ as "bootx64.efi"? This man-page is little bit unclear for me, so I would appreciate any help in this case.
