So I am installing Funtoo on this computer: http://zareason.com/shop/Teo-Pro-Netbook.html
Following these instructions: http://www.funtoo.org/wiki/Funtoo_Linux_Installation
Using this stage3: http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/funtoo/funtoo … est.tar.xz
I'm admittedly new at this, too used to simpler automated linux installations, but I want to learn more, and Funtoo looks like a fun place to start. It was all going well until I got to installing the kernel. Which kernel do I use, and how should it be configured? I tried debian-sources and gentoo-sources, but I'm getting errors and failures trying to install grub... Whatever assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

welcome to Funtoo!
Please imagine you should help another guy who tells you what you just told us. You wouldn't have any idea where the problem is. This is exactly what we see right now
Please give details of the "errors and failures" when you install debian-sources and gentoo-sources.
Thanks for the welcome Judge. I'm sorry, I really am new at this... I just don't know what details I need to provide. >< Most of the wall of text that scrolls by when I type 'emerge debian-sources' is incomprehensible to me, but in the end it fails to compile... I've followed the tutorial to the letter up to this point, so I assume that the default configuration doesn't work with this machine. I just want to know what alternatives I can try to fix it, or if I will have to start from scratch, or give up entirely...
I know, this can be confusing at the beginning, but soon, you will be glad to have that much information to understabd what's happening. Do not feel uncomfortable to "spam" us with too much quoted text; this often is necessary to see where your problem is. The only thi g which would be nice is to keep the forums posting readable. You can either insert that text between a BBcode code-block (see the help next to to the Posting-Editor-Box which reads "BBCode") and/or upload that to a pastebin site (Google for it) and just post the link to that paste here.
Another hint is to read the very last 5-10 lines emerge echoes; mostly when it fails, it tells you what to post in a help request and where to find it.
Also, often that lines of the output are important, which are prefixed with a red star (*).

I hope someone can decipher this because I haven't the slightest... Thanks in advance.
Yes, this serves as a first idea what system you have and what your settings are. But the most important thing is still missing: You told about problems with building your kernel. We need the exact issue happening. Please retry building one of the kernels like described in the wiki and paste the output of that which contains the error, too.
