Hi everyone! This is my first funtoo box and I'm having trouble to get usb storage devices working.
When the flash disk is plugged in, I could only find, say, /dev/sdb and /dev/sg1 created under /dev, but no /dev/sdb1 found.
Where has it gone?
I cannot mount my Kingston flash disk now, using the /dev/sdb
If I try:
mount /dev/sdb /mnt
It tells me I have to give the file system type.
mount -t vfat /dev/sdb /mnt
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
dmesg kind of saying that no proper vfat filesystem is found, but the flash disk works fine under windows.
I 'm sad about that. Maybe I had a wrong configuration in the kernel, or maybe udev isn't working properly. I checked .config with no result and I still don't know how to check udev. I'm a newbie on udev.
So if anyone have idea on how to get my usb drive working, I'll be grateful.
My machine is a x86_64 box with core i5.
Here's my .config: http://bpaste.net/show/86299
And my dmesg: http://bpaste.net/show/86301
And udevadm monitor when the usb drive is plugged and unplugged: http://bpaste.net/show/86304
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I tried this afternoon with fdisk -l, which seems to recognize /dev/sdb1 in /dev/sdb, but still no /dev/sdb1 under /dev...
