[solved] problem with dns / network setup

Hi,

First of all my english is verry bad, so i'm trying to do my best !

I have some problems with my network configuration.

I am using eth0 with dhcp on my adsl box/modem. I have the same problem with eth (CPL) and wifi configuration.

The problem: - when i want to open an url for the first time, the browser is trying to find the page 7/8 sec. When i'm going once again on the same url, it's ok : 1/2 sec.
                  - When  i want to: "emerge --sync"; emerge tell me (the first time) : "fatal: Unable to look up github.com (port 9418) (Name or service not known) " and after it work normaly !
                  - With irc network it's the same problem: i must try to connect many time to success.

I think this can it be a problem on dns configuration, no ?

here's some of my conf file
192.168.1.1 is my adsl box ip with dhcp server

 hp-quad ~ # cat /etc/resolv.conf

Re: [solved] problem with dns / network setup

If you are using a ADSL modem, wired broadband, eth0 dhcpd should detect your network when 'openRC' boots up. Observe if 'OK' is marked for 'starting network' while booting
If you are using a network manager, dis-able it completely

Yes, it usually does.  Post your /etc/resolf.conf contents.
