After today's (2012.11.19) upgrade, the wireless switch on my Dell Lattitude stopped working correctly. BIOS claims, that it should be turned on/off by Fn-F2 button combination, but what actually works is Fn-F3 combination. Also, as system starts the Wireless starts as turned off, so my network card can't initialize properly at boot time.
But if you access BIOS and switch Wireless control from Fn-F2/Application to Application only, it works fine. To turn our card on and off we must then use an application, like rfkill.
emerge rfkill rfkill unblock all
I'm quite convinced there are other applications which allow you to control your rf-switch too.
