grub2 + EFI + raid1

I've installed grub-1.99-r2 but am getting an error when I use grub2-install:

grub-1.99 is masked and broken, don't use it.

I had trouble with 1.98 too. Is gpt + raid1 still not doable? The wiki on gpt with enc root seemed to indicate so but I didn't find anything that helped me in it
