Hi all,
Well, using Funtoo, the subject says it all :-)
I tried to remove :
~/.cache/session
~/.config/xfce4-session
I also tried to relaunch xfdesktop :
xfdesktop --reloadI changed my theme.
I created a new user, but same problem.
This happened recently after I had to proceed with a huge update (at least 2 weeks ;-) ).
I suspect something from Gnome being launched although I don't want it, but I can't
find anything suspect.
Here are some informations.

I will be happy to get any help to sort this out.
Thanks.

Did maybe the default options get changed when it got updated or something? I know it sounds too simple to be true but it may be worth checking:
Settings > Desktop Settings > Behavior > Desktop Icons
Also, I had a problem a while back where no matter what I did nautilus would keep messing my desktop up. My solution in the end was to just uninstall nautilus. If your wallpaper is still being managed through xfce settings I do not see how this could be the case though.

Hi dodo3773,
Thanks for your answer.
I tried what you wrote but was without success.
I am now wondering if this can come from a udev problem as I have seen some
udevd issues during start (such as : udevd[1891] : failed to execute : '/lib64/udev/udev-acl' 'udev-acl --action=change --device=/dev/dri/card0' : No such file or directory)
There are about 20 issues like this one. (Unfortunately I don't know how to see them all. Which log file is it ?)
On the other hand, I don't see what my problem can have to do with udev.

Yeah, I do not see how this could be a udev problem. The drive mounting could be. But that would not explain why your other icons are not showing up like /home. Maybe it has something to do with your icon theme?

Also, you may want to check your USE flags for xfdesktop. I think you may need to compile it with thunar to make it draw the desktop (I read that somewhere).
Offline
Well, it was working without until then, but just in case I'm going to try it.
Answer in about a week as it's time for me to go on vacations.
I'll let you know.

It was faster than this.
Explosion of the CPU, my computer melted while my screen was showing me beautiful icons :-)
So, that was it, a simple USE flag.
Thanks a lot for your help dodo3773.

You're welcome. Happy to help.
